    Can assignments weighted as zero show up in student report?

    in Support Questions

    Is there a way that I can have assignments that are weighted zero to show up in the student report. I would like students to be able to see their pop quiz marks but they don't count towards their final grade. I realize an alternative is to create two sheets but I was hoping to have them all on one.

    Thanks,

    Brad Dixon

    I have added a feature request to add this option in the settings menu:

    Include 0 weights in report (YES/NO)

    I will reply here if this feature becomes available.

    I have a question along this same vein. When I give quizzes, I often let students correct the quiz and earn half credit for the questions they correct. I enter the original grade so I can track that, but I don't want it to be calculated. Rather, I want to use the corrected quiz score for the real grade. On my previous grade system, I was able to basically exempt an entire assignment so that it wouldn't be factored into their average, but was still there for us both to see. Is there a way to do this? I tried changing the category weight on the original quiz assignment to 0 and that did NOT look right on the calculations. Thanks!

    @Amy Estep Hi Amy,

    I hope I am understanding you correctly, you want to exempt an assignment? You can change the weight of the assignment to zero (not the category weight) which should work, or you can exempt students from the assignment using these instructions:

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jKPnrIDJhnS3VbdYKnFQ9VG9OwJfku45MhhIYD5SYXw/edit#heading=h.qub9l57mbbfr

    Please let su know if this works.
