    How to use weights?

This school year I've been using the Google Classroom mark book. For my class I have four categories, each one of them counting as 25% of the final grade. Each assignment in a given category is weighted according to the number of points. The Google Classroom mark book correctly calculates the final grade. I am trialing the GradeBook for Google Sheets, but after importing the same classroom into the gradebook, and setting up the categories, total points etc. the final grade is way lower than it should be. Why?

What did you put as the weighting in GradeBook for each assignment?

In the settings tab, for each of the four categories I put 25%. In the gradebook tab, I put the same 25% for each assignment (regardless if that assignment was worth 8 point or 10 points or whatever total).

Google Classroom does not support weighted assignments (just sum of points). If you would like to match this method you will need to put the point value as the weight in GradeBook, not 25%. By putting 25% for each assignment in GradeBook you are giving each assignment an equal weight.

So if the assignment is 8 points, put 8 as the weight for the assignment. This will then match Classroom.

Found the problem!! My categories where Test *, Test **, Test ***, and apparently the asterisks where messing up the code. I renamed the categories and now it seems to work...
